In the Russian River Valley AVA, the fog-cooled climate and well-drained soils provide the ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. Lingering morning fog from the Pacific Ocean brings the average temperature down, enabling grapes to fully mature while preserving flavor and acidity. With a 400-foot elevation change from ridge to valley, facing southwest, the deep, sandy loam known as Goldridge provides well drained soil for vast root development and the production of exceptional grapes.
